All of the above. OTT? Campy? But how did the summit play out in North Korea? Not that long ago, Donald Trump and Kim Jong-Un were on a path to nuclear war. Now they’re apparently BFFs. Hilarious? Since the summit wrapped up, we’ve seen endless analysis of what happened from our side. Glad you asked, because thanks to Vox, we have this video summary released by the DPRK.

Let’s get updated on the most-streamed songs of all time
The scientists bombed these pregnant moms with 15 different types of music from three different genres (pop/rock, traditional and classical) to see if they could elicit any of these movements. First, you might want to modify the sort of music your soon-to-be son/daughter is being exposed to in the womb. During the second and third trimester, it’s apparently unusually to observe these sorts of movements without some kind of stimulis–like, say, music. Along with the fatigue, the backache, the hormonal issues, the weight gain and everything else that comes with this blessed experience, the little person inside you–who is already taking everything you have–is trying to kick a hole in his/her house i.e. Did researchers choose the right five songs? What about metal? For the record, they went with Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” (which, by the way, did quite well stimulating mouth and tongue movement), “YMCA” from the Village People (which did almost as well as Queen), the Bee Gees’ “Too Much Heaven,” Adele’s “Someone Like You” and “Waka Waka” from Shakira. The greatest effect came with classical music with 84% of the fetuses doing…something in response. But back to the study: Why classical music? What can you do? That would get the little buggers moving. Punk? That was followed by traditional tunes (79%) and then the broad pop/rock category (59%). I’m suspicious, though. You’re pregnant. Goth? Researchers at Institut Marquès examined the mouth and tongue movements over more than 300 fetuses who were between 18 and 38 weeks along. No one knows. Doctors weren’t willing to draw any conclusions other than it may have to do with the fact that classical music deals with a lot of vocal-less melodies. More at The Daily Mail. you.
Do you have an uppity fetus? Try some classical music.
Nothing less than fierce fandom for rock was what made this book come to life. You can’t have a career that long and not have some stories to tell. He and his band have played some monster festivals in the UK, hung out with Lemmy and Motorhead, become friends with Guns ‘N Roses, the Misfits (and others) and endured many indignities on the road. If you’re looking for the truth about what goes on in dressing rooms, in the van and when rockers hang out together, you’re going to need this one. One of the hardest working guys in Canadian rock is Danko Jones, a guy who has been plugging away for close to a quarter-century. I quote:
After playing rock music for the last twenty-one years, I’ve found time to put away the guitar and write down some of my thoughts on music and my experiences of life in a touring band. Danko has committed some of these stories and rants to a book called I’ve Got Something to Say: 10 Years of Rock and Roll Ramblings. This book is a collection of essays that, unlike the music I play, are lighthearted and playful.
Danko Jones issues a decade’s worth of rants and ramblings in a book
Whoa. People went to a Foo Fighters show and a Guns N’ Roses gig broke out.
Dave brought out Axl, Slash, and Duff. The Foo Fighters were burning through their set at the Firenze Rocks Festival in Florence, Italy, last week (Thursday, June 14) when a Guns ‘N Roses show popped up in the middle. Luke’s camp who leaked the court documents, not hers; her attorneys say his “nearly $50 million defamation case against Kesha is meritless,” AND that, despite using her album Rainbow as an argument that she’s not being discouraged or held back from making new music with the company’s support, Kesha hasn’t been paid for her work. Perry has unequivocally confirmed that she was not raped by Dr. [Kesha] also falsely asserted that [Luke] had also raped Kathryn Hudson p/k/a Katy Perry,” and “Following this text message conversation, and with [Kesha’s] encouragement, [Gaga] spread negative messages about [Luke] in the press and on social media.”
Back in early 2017, it was reported that E! She’s never publicly accused Dr. This new detail about Katy Perry, however, is pretty straightforward: “On February 26, 2016, [Kesha] sent a text message to Stefani Germanotta p/k/a Lady Gaga which repeated [Kesha’s] false claim that [Luke] had raped her. Luke are countersuing to say she’s defaming him – saying only that the court in Manhattan had “received and sealed a text message sent from Kesha to Lady Gaga in April 2016, which Dr. He’s claimed to have lost out on $10 million or more that he would’ve made if their collaboration had continued. Luke of raping her, but she did stop working with him several years ago. Even Lady Gaga’s weighing in – her team sent a statement to USAToday saying she’s an “ancillary witness” and that Dr. Kesha and her attorneys should be ashamed of themselves for not publicly acknowledging this and apologizing. Luke’s people are “attempting to manipulate the truth and draw press attention to their case by exaggerating Lady Gaga’s role and falsely accusing her of dodging responsible requests.”
Perry, by the way, reportedly has been deposed for this lawsuit but the details of her testimony have not been revealed (yet). Luke. We knew Kesha said he’d raped and abused her; we knew in early 2017 there was some conversation involving Kesha, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. But the details are just coming to light now. Kesha’s team says that it was Dr. The years-long battle between Kesha and Dr. “Kesha and her legal team are fully aware that Ms. Luke says Kesha should be ashamed of herself for the suggestion. Luke did not rape her. In a separate statement to The Blast, a spokesperson for Dr. Luke – is baseless and irresponsible, and it is disrespectful to both Katy Perry and Dr. obtained documents for a status hearing in the ongoing court case – remember, Kesha wants out of her contract and Sony/Kemosabe/Dr. Luke’s attorneys denounce and deny the accusation. Luke is getting uglier – now Katy Perry is involved. In a statement provided after the documents were released June 13, Dr. Perry came to public light only because Kesha’s attorneys filed the accusation publicly.”
Of course there’s a rebuttal. Instead, they continue to publicize this and other falsehoods. Court documents obtained by The Blast and Variety state Kesha sent a text to Lady Gaga containing that accusation. Luke is able to share with Mother Monster as well as Katy Perry.”
At that time, the messages were sealed and to remain confidential. Apparently they’re confidential no longer. “Katy Perry herself confirmed that Dr. In fact, Kesha’s false accusation involving Ms. Kesha’s accusation to the contrary – just like her other outrageous lies about Dr. Two of three claims made in the documents were already known: that Lukas Gottwald gave Kesha Sebert drugs against her stated wishes and that he raped her, all while she was under contract to work with and record with his label, Kemosabe, a Sony imprint. Luke.”
Kesha says Dr. Luke also raped Katy Perry; he denies it
The Flaming Lips cover Spongebob Squarepants because Flaming Lips
I’ve heard from a number of people that the current Broadway production based on Spongebob Squarepants is a real hit among a certain set of adults. Cyndi Lauper, Sara Bareilles, John Legend, They Might Be Giants and Steven Tyler are also contributors. In fact, it’s the song they contributed to the production. Because it focuses on the early years of the series, the younger grown-ups who see it find themselves in a bath of nostalgia. The Flaming Lips, who do weird things because that’s what they do, have posted a demo of a song that appears in the musical.
How much? REALLY big. All tape cleaning (so far, only some hum in a few live tracks), fade-outs and correct mix double checking were actually done by me, with final EQ and level checks at Battery (Sony’s studio in NYC). The series will begin with two sets with more to be issued over the coming years. The 12″ single allowed the band to explore new sonic possibilities while the physical beauty of the packaging gave Depeche Mode room to develop a sophisticated and commanding visual aesthetic. “It’s great to be able to re-share these songs with old and new fans in the way they were originally intended to be experienced. Each has a list price of $59.98. Hello
I’m writing you regarding your recent article about the upcoming DM 12″ box sets. “All material will be remastered from the original tapes and cleaned up at Abbey Road.”
This is not entirely accurate. Because the band was one of the first of the alt-rock type to recognize the power, flexibility, and potential of the 12-inch single, DM wants to remember those years with a massive re-release of all their singles on 12-inch vinyl. UPDATE: Daniel Barassi (webmaster/band archivist for Depeche Mode) emailed me this correction. These 12″ singles are all take from original tapes, but I would not call them “remasters”. SPEAK & SPELL | THE 12″ SINGLES contains a facsimile reproduction of the rare Flexi Disc “Sometimes I Wish I Was Dead” b/w “King of the Flies” (the Fad Gadget track as on the original release); Dreaming Of Me 12″: “Dreaming of Me” b/w “Ice Machine”; New Life 12″: “New Life (Remix)” b/w “Shout! Just wanted to send you this correction. A BROKEN FRAME | THE 12″ SINGLES contains See You 12″: “See You (Extended Version)” b/w “Now This Is Fun (Extended Version)”; The Meaning of Love 12″: “The Meaning of Love (Fairly Odd Mix)” b/w “Oberkorn (It’s a Small Town) (Development Mix)”; Leave In Silence 12″: “Leave In Silence (Longer)” b/w “Further Excerpts From: My Secret Garden” and “Leave In Silence (Quieter)”; original single poster reproduction; download card. Thanks! Abbey Road has transferred all the tapes at high resolution and done some lacquer cutting. All material will be remastered from the original tapes and cleaned up at Abbey Road. Depeche Mode used their singles discography as a means of offering left field remixes and other delights for their fans. Daniel Barassi
webmaster / band archivist, Depeche Mode If they do this for all 14 studio albums, it will cost almost $850 to collect the whole set. With Depeche Mode’s new round of reissues, they decided to go big. That probably means at least 180-gram virgin PVC. The goal is to have them sound like the original, out-of-print 12″ singles. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.”
Here’s what we can expect:
All vinyl in the box sets will feature “audiophile-quality” vinyl. (Rio Mix)”; Just Can’t Get Enough 12″: “Just Can’t Get Enough (Schizo Mix)” b/w “Any Second Now (Altered)”; original single poster reproduction; download card. I have spent months A/B’ing the original 12″ singles with test pressings of the new box set content, to make sure that goal is met. From the press release:
Depeche Mode realized the format’s potential and embraced the power of 12″ vinyl and the avenues of innovation it opened up. The artwork for each box will draw from “street art iconography inspired by the original releases.”
Let’s break down the boxes, shall we? “Our 12″ singles have always been incredibly important to the band,” agreed the members of Depeche Mode.
Attention vinyl collectors: A huge trove of Depeche Mode is headed your way (UPDATED)
Question: Should cool moms and dads bring their young kids to concerts?
I was set, fully prepared for what was sure to be one of the prime shows of my life. Then I looked to my right and saw a guy holding his daughter, who I’m guessing was about 3. Because kids don’t belong there! Is there an argument for getting a babysitter and leaving the sprogs at home? P.S. It’s so heartwarming to see this, though I can’t help noting that an even better way to protect your child’s hearing is to leave her at home. Love, Steve. My god, how irresponsible are you for exposing an innocent child to this, you monster? Backstage was a lovely, calm refuge for all the acts, many of whom brought their families. A few months ago I was at a music festival in Cincinnati, Ohio, and about to watch one of my favorite bands, The National, perform one of my favorite albums, Boxer, from front to back. But as a parent, I really loathe this practice. When it came time for Daddy to perform (there were no women musicians on the bill), the kids were seen side stage with industrial strength hearing protection over their little skulls. This essay from Complex argues the former. Didn’t you notice those bros smoking weed over there? I have a feeling there might be some strong opinions on this one. Is this good thing? It was an adorable sight — he was clearly thrilled to share this special moment with his kid, and the little tyke gurgled excitedly while playfully pulling at the headphones that her daddy had preemptively placed over her ears to protect her hearing. I also saw more than a few babes in arms. I spent all last Saturday as the MC of the Sound of Music Festival in Burlington, Ontario. And it wasn’t just backstage. Every time I wandered through the crowd, I saw dozens of families enjoying the day–and that included more young (sub-10-years-old) kids everywhere. A number of sub-5-year-olds spent the day running around the compound. Also, it’s almost 9 p.m. Or is this a great bonding experience? How thoughtful! I hate you. I somehow talked my way into the VIP section, squeezing into a sweet spot just off stage left. I had hit the bathroom a few minutes earlier, followed up with a quick stop at the booze tent for some red wine. Aw, that’s so sweet, I thought to myself. As a concertgoer, my biggest pet peeve is when some cool dad or mom brings a small child to a show. — why isn’t she in bed? A kid at a rock show makes me feel self-conscious about the things I like to do at rock shows — drink, swear, scream my head off, dance awkwardly. Read on. Kinda cute, really.

You gave me courage when I didn’t have any. Here’s what she posted on Facebook. I miss your love everyday. Daddy,
I love you and miss you so much. Happy Father’s Day daddy, nothing compares to you. Toni
You believed in me when I didn’t. Recording this song with you was a special and amazing experience I wish I could repeat 100 times over and I know you would too. Tori Cornell misses her dad terribly. You were the best father anyone could ask for. Our relationship was so special, and you were always there for me.
